- 3 tbsp tomato puree
- 1 tsp dried Oregano

- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 beef stock cube
- 2 X 400g canned chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 tsp each of brown sugar, salt and black pepper
- bechamel sauce
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsp plain flour
- 720 ml full fat milk
- 1 pinch salt and pepper
- 50 g grated cheddar and 50g grated mozzarella

- 12 lasagne sheets
- As much grated cheddar cheese as you desire for the topping
- Parsley fresh and finely chopped (optional)
Instructions to make to make Lucious Lasagne
- Heat the olive oil then cook the diced onion while stirring for about 5 minutes and add then garlic, cook for a further minute.
- Add the carrot and mushrooms then cook for 2-3 minutes before adding the minced beef and cook for 5 minutes until browned.
- Add the tomato puree, dried oregano and thyme. Then add Worcester sauce and crumble in the beef stock cube.
- Add the tinned tomatoes, brown sugar and salt and pepper then stir everything together while bringing to the boil. Turn down the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Now preheat the oven and then start making the Bechamel sauce.
- Melt the butter over a medium heat and once its melted/bubbling, mix in the flour and keep whisking for about 1 minute.
- Add a good splash of milk and mix it it while turning up the heat. Then add the milk splash at a time, whilst continuing to mix in until the milk is used up.
- Once thickened add the 2 x 50g of grated cheese and a pinch of salt and pepper, stir it together then turn off the heat.
- Now it's time to layer up the Lasagne.
- Add a thin layer of meat sauce to a lasagna dish to stop the pasta from sticking then cover with lasagne sheets, but make sure they don't overlap. Top the pasta sheets with 1/3 of the bechamel sauce, then 1/3 of the meat sauce. Continue the process until all the ingredients are done. Pasta sheets, white sauce then meat sauce.
- Sprinkle as much cheddar on the top as your heart desires. (I find around 175g works well) then bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes at 200 degrees until the cheese is golden and lasagne is bubbling at the edges.
- Sprinkle the optional parsley on top
